We're Back!

Its 2012 time to get into school again!

In room 11 we have been working on our shields which are four corners of a shield and we had to draw what we liked about power,belonging, choice and fun.


We have also been working on our fitness by doing the twelve minute run each week. There has been Friday fun where we have been letting the kids have a choice to do anything to do with PE while there is a dodge ball game in the hall.

Eggs

we had a lot of fun throwing eggs out the window we got 5 pecies of a4 paper, two
rubber bands and 1 meter and a half of string and a plastic bag then we had to constuct something that would ether cushin it when it fell or a parasutet and if it hthe ground and crack we lost but if it didn't crack we would win and only one of the 6 groups egg didn't crack.

room 11

In room 11 we have been making our own scooby doo episodes first we did a plan to plan out what the normal scooby doo episodes are like. Then we drafted our episodes with all the speech and punctuation so we could make it into a comic book.
Over the last few days we have been turning them into comic books.:)

athletics

In room 11 three people got into the inter-inter zone athletics they all did very well.
Ollie got into 100 meter sprints 200 meter sprints and high jump Matt P got into 1000meter sprints and 200 meter sprints Alison got into vortex and discus.
They all did very well. Tawaint came 3rd out of 11 schools.

Te Papa

On Tuesday the 22nd of March Kakapo Syndicate went on a trip to Te Papa. On the way we stopped off to look at the Treaty of Waitangi. The vault which the Treaty was kept in was kind of cool. The next stop was for lunch it was at Frank Kitts Park the ground was still a bit damp so Liam.C and Ollie.V.L decided to go down the damp slide and got all wet. At last we got to Te Papa the first thing we had to do was to get in to our groups. The first floor we went to was the fourth floor. On that floor we had to find all the anwsers to our activity sheet. The next floor we went to was the second floor and we looked at the Awsome Forces. In Awsome Forces we had to look at all the stuff about earthquakes we even got to go in the earthquake house. The last thing we did at Te Papa was go to the My Space where we had to find out about the Christchurch earthquake. Then we got to have some free time on the wall yay. :)

Scooby Doo

In Room 11 we have been watching Scooby Doo episodes and looking at the structure of them seeing if they're all the same. We also used a sheet with pictures of Fred, Velmar, Daphane, Shaggy, Scooby Doo and the villain. On this sheet we had to write what they all did and said in almost all the episodes.
